I'm really not sure if this is the place for this message, mods. I'm sorry. But we are all in such a need of distraction, and this one is happening "right now" on the Internet and TV.

 

The first man to try to make a skydiving freefall jump from space, Felix Baumgartner, - has launched today into the atmosphere in a capsule with a weather balloon.

HE is in a special skydiving spacesuit.  When he gets up to space, he will jump  - and he will be the first man to try to break the sound barrier in speed. This is the highest freefall jump ever attempted.

Yes, I need a distraction! Many stupid worry thoughts and my brain is feeling a little frizzle fried this weekend.

 

I've heard of a guy doing something like this when they were testing parachutes for the new high altitude airplanes. Oh my gosh, it's an intense thing to do. You would have to have some major cajones.

Hi Parker.... Watched it on tv live...spooked me out.  I have a problem with heights... When he stepped off, my toes felt lhey went to my head..  That guy is either so brave or crazy.  Patty
