Ha ha    I kind of take back what I wrote earlier - by the time I got to Book 3 I had had enough of it all! 

 

It's interesting what you wrote about the British slang - as a Brit I didn't notice it but I wondered if she would have got it right.  Clever marketing to set the story in the US though.  Also I noticed on the UK book shelves top sellers, under the Fifty Shades series, there were about 6 or 7 S&M-type books by different authors with exactly the same type of cover as Fifty Shades - they're all jumping on the bandwagon now!

I can only surmise that the marketing of this book has been brilliant because the contents certainly isn't. I don't get why it's so popular.

I've been seeing the book lying about in the used book stores of late.

 

As to the accuracy of the books- what we in the BDSM scene would say: it's B.S.

Mr. Grey's actions are the actions of the kind of DOM/Master that many would consider dangerous.

 

It's a good read, but don't put what  you read into action, you may end up damaging someone.
