Has anyone read or wanting to read this book.  There is so much hype about this book, that i took a back seat.  Now i want to read it i cant get hold of a copy.    I think I'll look into an ebook.  I need something to lift me out of my benzo moodswings.

Speaking of swings, I think I heard that there may be mention of some kind of swings in the books. Did you know that it's really a series of 3 books??

 

Isn't it really cheap to read ebooks from Amazon? But then, does that mean that you "own" it as a download, or is it just on loan.

 

We talked about it here last month I think, much joking was had, but I don't recall that anyone had really read it, or at least admitted to it. 

 

I think you should go for it!! Lots of women (and some men) are saying it really affected them in positive ways. Why not??? You deserve something to take your mind off of all of this. Hey, if it works, it would be worth it at any price!

The book is a Life changing experience! Not that I know  ... Actually I have like 4 Girlfriends that are going crazy like changing the schedules to be home just to get that book back opened and waking the Husbs in the middle of all kinds of UnGodly hours. lol

Honestly, watching the loving scene in The Way We Were with Redford on Streisand action, that gets my CNS about as hyped up as I want to get!

It's a romance novel kindle book from amazon.

I got a free kindle app for my smartphone and I love taking it to bed and reading books on the 'mini kindle'

I only download the free kindle books though because if I started spening money I could see myself racking up quids I haven't got.

I have finished the first book and i think it's OK - too much hype over it.  Yes it's a bit rude, and it's a bit sadistic too - whatevs floats your boat.  I'm starting on the second one now - want to find out what happens and if it gets better - I don't think it will though.

I have read the  first book and wont be rushing out to get the second unless you say it gets better pops, the sadomasochistic stuff really just does not do anything much for me , guess I'm just too vanilla

I've read the second and a bit of the third.  The first book was the best one.  The second was ok, this third book is dragging on and a complete waste of paper.  The writer can't write - thats all I can say. Total waste of money. The first book I read in one day, as it was a page turner.  If I like a book then I will read it very quickly.  I have had the third book on the go for ages and can't be bothered to read it anymore.

I agree, the writing is very very amateruish, guess she figured with the subject matter she didnt need to be worried about her writing style, the books would sell, I guess its just all hype and free advertising , I will not buy the rest, thanks for the critique.

If you have read or seen any of her interviews, this modest lady author admits she is not the best writer and the fact that the books went "global" has amazed her as well.  She only started writing them as a blog stemming from her own fantasies but was persuaded to get them published.

 

However, you cannot deny the phenomenon that all 3 of her books are at the top of bestseller lists worldwide and they have obviously touched a nerve somewhere.

 

I say, good for her and thanks for giving millions worldwide a giggle as well as providing a welcome distraction from w/ds!

I very nearly bought this first book in the series (they are $9 each in the local supermarket) to take on our recent short holiday. I read the first page and didn't think much of the writing quality. I opened the book in the middle to see if I could find a raunchy bit. I did but it made me squirm as I stood in the supermarket aisle reading it. Maybe I found an off bit but the 'hero' was talking about how he wanted the 'heroine' to remember his prowess the next day by the pain she would be in. All I could think was 'Eeeuw, what a creep!' and 'What happened to women's liberation?' (for the thousanth time). I put it back.
