salad dressing recipe

I'm lazy but I always just mix high quality olive oil and high quality balsamic vinegar. If you want something creamier it's not that hard to make mayonnaise with a handful of organic ingredients (mostly eggs and vinegar) and then either add that to your vinaigrette, or add other stuff to it to flavor it more.

I like to mix 1 1/2 teaspoons wholegrain mustard with 1/2 teaspoon of honey.  Add a tablespoon of raw cider vinegar, a clove of raw garlic crushed and a tiny pinch of salt and stir vigorously.  Then stir in about 3 or 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil until the mix thickens. It keeps in the fridge for about 6 days covered.

That sound delicious, Betsy!

I don't think I've ever heard of whole grain mustard. Is it different from dry mustard?

My salad dressing is just like Spenglers, I drizzle olive oil on the salad and then high quality balsamic vinegar (the real thick kind).

Betsy's sounds good also.

Whole grain mustard is found by the prepared mustards at the supermarket. It has whole mustard seeds in it.

I am moving this thread to Off Topic,  there is another Recipes thread there, here is a link to it:

Hi Flip :)

Yes, it's a nice dressing and goes well with a robust mix of salad greens.

I hope you can find the Wholegrain mustard.  Pg kindly told you where to find it over there, across the pond!
