Hi Margo,

I did think about medical terms and nearly said in the rules that they were not acceptable as once we open the game to medical terms we allow a new load of words as found in a medical dictionary. Thousands of them.

But we all use sort of semi medical terms and even full blown ones on a day to day basis and it would be difficult to reject these. eg, hernia, ocular - you know them when you see them -I think.

I believe we have to use our honest judgement and do our best. I've no doubt there are times we'll disagree.

I tend to say 'No' to rugate, gutta, guttae. Not in Oxford Dic. Whereas guttate is- having drops or drop like markings.

Feel free to disagree.

Dave

PS.

I feel the same applies to some chemistry words eg. aryl, amyl etc. but we face them as they arise I think.

Hi Here's

Game 8

Find as many words as you can from these nine letters.

Each word must be at least four letters long and must contain the 'hub' letter. In this case 'Y'.

Letters given can only be used once in each word.

You cannot use plurals, foreign words or 'proper' nouns but verb forms ending in 's' are allowed.

Both English or American spellings are allowed but NOT of the same word in one game.

There is at least one nine letter word.

Abbreviations don't count.

'Urban Dictionary' words, slang and exclamations are NOT encouraged.

Medical words - see Reply #206 on: 8th June 2012

(Mmmm. the rules get longer!) Is it too complex to work??

Game 8 -    The target in this case is 35+ words.

Please read the rules
