This is where it can become silly.

 

groper and roper have 2 'r's so they're out.

 

Yes gaper and leaper are in my dictionary but loper is not.

gaper as a 'burrowing mollusc', 'leaper' as a derivative of verb leap.

 

However my ruling

There seems to be no logic that supports leaper as a derivative of the verb leap

but disallows loper as a derivative of the verb lope.

So for the purpose of this game.

loper is allowed.

I just meant it was a new word to me, though it is in my Concise Oxford Dictionary
