Yes ergo was on my list Flip

Game 1 still open

Game 2

Find as many words as you can from these nine letters.

Each word must be at least four letters long and must contain the 'hub' letter. In this case 'C'.

Letters given can only be used once in each word. i.e. in this case, in each word, E and N can be used up to twice but the others can be used only once.

You cannot use plurals, foreign words or 'proper' nouns but verb forms ending in 's' are allowed.

Both English or American spellings are allowed but NOT of the same word.

There is at least  one nine letter word.

Abbreviations don't count.

'Urban Dictionary' words are NOT encouraged. Game 2 -    The target in this case is 30 + words.

D E E

U C N

O N R

I'm to bed now. Perhaps another 'moderator' ?

Sorry, got distracted.  Segs as in short for segments:

White blood cells, or leukocytes, are classified into two main groups: granulocytes and nongranulocytes (also known as agranulocytes).

The granulocytes, which include neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils, have granules in their cell cytoplasm. Neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils also have a multilobed nucleus. As a result they are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes or "polys." The nuclei of neutrophils also appear to be segmented, so they may also be called segmented neutrophils or "segs."

Do I get credit, Boss?  Do I?

Pablo - I think 'recon' is an abbreviation.

Challis - are you saying 'segs' is an abbreviation.

I don't think abbreviations are words for this purpose.

Lavender - I'm afraid none of your words had a 'C' in them.

Olddave,

What about having  separate threads so that we can add words where needed.

eg. Nine letter word game 1

Nine letter word game 2

etc.

Thanks, it's an excellent distraction.

Hi Carlton,

I'm glad you're finding it a good distraction.

I see your idea but I think we have to be careful not to have too many threads on this.

We'll see what the 'bosses' say.

Is it ok if I do it this way? Easier to see what's already there. Won't change the total though, I think a couple might not pass muster  :D

Hi Flip,

I think doing it in a list might make it more difficult for others looking for a list - if you follow me??

Think co-ed is hyphenated. Not sure if we should allow hyphenated words? If I have to rule I would say 'No'.

I think 'ceed' is not spelt like this??

Thiink 'duce' is Italian for leader.

Others no probs.
