Staf, those photos are great, love the bird... amazing colours. :o

Oscar

Thanks Oscar, they were really quite tame, we were staying at this quaint little old country farmhouse and each morning these beautiful birds would come up and feed right in front of us.  Got some great shots without them being 'pestered' too much.  I have some cute ones of these tiny little snippets of things, not sure what kind of bird they were, but little larrikins. I'll post it up soon.

Hope you are doing ok?

One of our most grand and old buildings called 'The Strand circa 1891',  photo doesn't do it justice in this format, click to enlarge it.  Beautiful building inside and out, original architecture.

Those deer are so beautiful.  I just love to see 'em but don't often where we now live.  If we move back to Oregon... we will!

Thanks for posting that!

Thanks............umm they were more than curious they ate the flowers.  Thankfully they didn't eat the ribbons.  They knew what they were doing.  It was like a big pizza had been left out for them.  Yum:)  I was very glad they didn't eat the ribbons as I didn't want them to choke or get sick.  Where I used to live they ate my flowers also.  Glad you liked them Lily & Staffy.  I would love to see Oregon someday Lily. I've never been there yet but hear it is quite beautiful.

A while ago (couple of months actually) hubby and I were lucky enough to get to attend the World competition for Sand Sculptures, they are so beautiful and the detail in them is just amazing.  Down to the most minute of detailing.

Here'a a couple, most people do not believe they are sand, but I can assure you they are.

I took these shots;

My favourite as I always had horses as a child and into my early 20's

This was the winning sculpture on the day, although I personally thought some of the others were more detailed

I also liked this one it was 'masculine' and strong.

Wow!! Staffy they are amazing, and absolutely beautiful

I have around 35 different ones, these are just a few, they were really magnificent in every way Magrita, the skill involved is phenomenal, we were also lucky enough to see a couple of them being finished off.  The competition was held in one of our heritage villages, some of the homes are circa 1891, so it made for a beautiful day, before I was in benzo tolerance.

Staffy, These are awesome.  Do you know if they add anything other than water to the sand?  I love to "play" with sand at the beach and it is so difficult to sculpt it and always wonder how they get it to hold it's form.  It looks like a reddish sand also; maybe a different kind than at the beach?  They are amazing!  Thanks for sharing...........

love,

Flutter

WOW!! Will have to up my sandcastle game next summer. I got as far as the inverted sand pail category and won't get much further.

I love the colour of that sand. It is so rich. Around here, the sand is more light tan in colour - calm but not exciting.

Thanks for showing those Staffy. Amazing. I have seen ice sculptures that are beautiful but nothing like that in sand.

The sand is what hey call 'brickies sand' and it's a mix of rich blended sand and semi dry concrete, we use it for most things over here.  I have some more exquisite ones, I'll  pop up to show just how amazing they are, just didn't want to hog the thread.

I have the brochure put away, for those of you in the US I think they have a comp coming up in July next year.

Here7s a little Elmo, actually not so little I think she weighs in a around 8K. My daughter left her with us just before she went to England 6 years ago and Elmo had been a throw away kitten!
