good doctors in the GTA

Does anyone know of any good doctors in the Toronto Ontario Canada area, who go by the Ashton Manual?  The doctor I currently have (if people have not read my previous posts), believes in detoxing all her patients.  I have looked up benzo wise doctors and got in contact with one Dr. Melemis who is an addiction specialist and tapers people off this drug in Toronto.  I went to see him and he would not take me because he said I have a history of anxiety and depression.  It puzzled me, because I did not have depression prior to being put on these drugs, although I did struggle with anxiety issues prior do being put on benzos.

Anyone's suggestions, I would be most grateful!

My mom is currently seeing Dr. David Slyfield on that list (his office is beside Humber River Regional Hospital).  You will need to have a referral from your doctor.  He is very caring and open to the Ashton Method, do your homework before the appointment.  Bring in the Ashton Manual and show him as a guideline, not sure which drugs you are tapering off of.  I had to educate him on a slow taper of benzos for my mom who is elderly. 

 

Ask him if it would be okay to do it at your own pace as Ashton is a little aggressive sometimes.  He agreed to allow my mom to go at her own pace:)
