New Year Resolutions

Dear All,

 

2011 draws to a close. I for one am looking forward to the chiming of the midnight bells on December 31st.

 

In 1992, the Queen said, "It is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure....it has turned out to be an Annus Horribilis". I just find this quite funny and I am sure it applies to the year that many of us have had.

 

So, a new year, one of continued progress for all on BB, and one of new opportunity and new friendship. I have resolved already to more exercise and that's been going well. I am thinking of some other changes, realistic ones. Lifestyle changes are generally necessary for us in our predicament, so what are some of your resolutions? I am thinking about the following for myself:

 

give up fatty snacks

start yoga

draw again

read more (now I have enough focus back)

stop wasting so much time on bad TV and films

be outside as much as possible

reconnect with good friends

notice more things in the world around me

have no secrets (or fewer-it is too stressful and often pointless to keep secrets)

be honest with myself

be kind to myself

do as much as I can to keep contributing to my recovery

 

Too much? Probably, but if I can apply some of these to my life, then that'll be fine. I read about the 21 day rule: if you do something positive for this amount of time then it becomes habit.

Those are good resolutions, I'm hoping to stick to the ones you mentioned as well.
