Then, of course, there's the Queen Of People's hearts.....The most beautiful and dearest of all.  I never get tired of looking at pictures of her.

Marnie,

100%!!!

She was a grogeous woman!!

She was just everything, Scott. Just look at her.....So very beautiful and we'll never see the likes of her again....This is how her brother described her in the Eulogy...

http://www.britannia.com/diana/article4.html

" Diana was the very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty. All over the world, she was a symbol of selfless humanity. All over the world, a standard bearer for the rights of the truly downtrodden, a very British girl who transcended nationality. Someone with a natural nobility who was classless and who proved in the last year that she needed no royal title to continue to generate her particular brand of magic."

~Earl Spencer~

I agree Marnie, I miss her. I stayed up all night watching her funeral. So sad.

Dear Marnie:

As sad as Diana's passing was, I must respectfully disagree with your statement that "So very beautiful and we'll never see the likes of her again." There are so many fabulous women in this world that, beautiful or not and celebrity or not, they have and will continue to accomplish great things in this world, large and small. I think its unfair to measure every woman against those with unusual advantage in this world.

Hiya, Kristin...

I guess I did'nt make myself clear enough. When I said "we'll never see the likes of her again" I meant that from the persepective of a British citizen speaking about a member of our Royal Family. Diana was an unconventional Royal. Whilst other members of the Household performed their duties in an "official" manner, it was Diana who was shaking hands with lepers and Aids patients. She'd also think nothing of getting down on her hands and knees to be on the level of a child, and would'nt care about scooping children up into her arms and hugging them as tightly as she could. She did'nt care that protocol dictated that she do otherwise. Tactile and caring, she was a humanitarian and the reason why she was known to the British public as The People's Princess.

She was very well aware of her priveleged position and (in her own words) used it for the greater good. She looked on her "unusual advantage" as exactly that. An opportunity to make a difference.  Right up until a couple of weeks before her death she was helping bring to light the Landmine issue in Angola and spent time there with child amputees.

As far as her looks were concerned. Yes, of course there are far, far more good looking women in the public eye. I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting her and seeing her up close and believe me, she was exquisitely beautiful. I've mentioned this somewhere on here before. Her features were large, but in complete proportion. Her skin was porcelain and like nothing I ever seen before, and that is speaking as a woman myself. Her eyes were like massive blue pools which you could drown in and exuded kindness and compassion.  She was also extremely photogenic, which is something the media loved and milked for all it's worth.

Diana also had massive issues of her own to deal with and went through Hell at the hands of the Establishment.  Their shabby treatment of her was disgraceful. She made a difference and that is the reason she was loved, not only in this country, but across the globe. She cared about Joe Public in a way that no other member of the Royal Family ever has and she's left that legacy in her sons. Because of her guidance, William will make a wonderful King. She showed those boys what it's like to be normal. She took them in the dead of night to help out at homeless shelters and showed them that there was a life beyond the gilded Palace walls.. She's shining brightly in both of them, still and both William and Harry have openly made a resolve to carry on her good works. She'd be very proud of them.

I hope I explained myself a little better, Kirstin. I know beauty is only skin deep and superficial. It's just that Princess Diana had it all......But then, I'm kinda partial... :)

Hi Marnie:

I understand what you were saying now and, as little as I know about the British monarchy, I would wholeheartedly agree with you. Diana was a very bright star indeed and I am so sorry for the pain her loss has caused you and so many Britons. The wondrous thing about such great people is their spirit lives on and continues to inspire people for generations to come. I am sure Diana's positive influence will be felt for a very long time.
