Hello,

Would taking a low dosage of thienobenzo, such as olanzapine, have the same effects on the brain as a benzo would?

Would this drug have the same withdrawal effects as a benzo?

Olanzapine (brand name Zyprexa) works by balancing the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine in the brain.  On the other hand, benzos work on the GABA neurotransmitter receptors in the brain.  Olanzapine is an anti-psychotic drug usually used for schizophrenia, but it can also be used to treat anxiety or depression.

The list of withdrawal symptoms looks similar to that of benzos, including "brain zaps," which are more prevalent in SSRI/SNRI withdrawal.

Brain zaps is the only symptom i had when coming off SSRIs. I kinda learned to like them after a few days 😆
