Tapering Ambien

I’ve been on Ambien for a couple weeks. I may need to taper it as I am an ex benzo buddy. I’m thinking if I need to taper it I either request a liquid form of Ambien and taper that slowly or I request an equivalent dose of liquid valium and taper that. BUT I can’t find what an equivalent dose of Valium would be per milligram of Ambien. Anyone here have some knowledge on that or where I could find it?? Thanks

I should have mentioned I’ve only taken 8 10mg doses. I’m dealing with a lot of stress right now and have not been sleeping is why my doc gave me the Ambien. I had become desperate for sleep so I could function with what I was dealing with. Perhaps ??  since I’ve only taken a few doses maybe I can just stop if things start to settle down for me. Unfortunately my stress is expressed with brutal insomnia 😩
