Hello My Peeps

Recommended Posts

Hello my peeps

Cant believe it’s been over 12 years since I’ve been in here and over 12 years clean. I even quit alcohol for 7 years now and can’t describe in words what it feels like to be clean AND sober! My life has changed. My world has changed. I no longer worry about having to get more pills or my next drink. No withdrawals no hangovers, only living a beautiful life. The only thing I worry about now is where I’m going on my next cruise (I’m retired now, fyi).  BB was HUGE in my journey and my recovery. I’m sure I wouldn’t have gotten here if not for the many many friends I made in this forum. It and they saved my life.
This just a note that it can be done. IT CAN BE DONE!

Go slow, taper easy, be patient, make friends, share..

Please feel free to look back to my posts from years back.. it might help. At times it’s rough (really rough), but keep your eyes on the goal..

I wish all off you the best of luck in getting off that crap. I won’t lie, addiction sucks. But once free your life will become magical, this I can promise.

Hi Steve,
I remember you and it is such a pleasure to hear from you. It’s wonderful that you are living a beautiful life and enjoying your retirement years doing things like taking cruises. This is exactly what we wish for everyone. Thanks you for coming back and posting, your message will provide much hope for those still in the process!

Welcome back @[cp...]

I decided that your post deserved to be spun off into its own thread (away from the Ideas thread).

Thank you for taking the trouble to login and post an update. And congratulations on managing to give up alcohol, and that you are enjoying your retirement - life is good again!

So happy you're happy in your sobriety @[cp...], I am too, life is so much better not being a slave to these awful substances.  Thank you for coming back and letting those still suffering know that there is life after benzodiazepine withdrawal. :smitten:

If there is one gift from all this suffering it is that I, and we, are no longer slaves to a pill.  Your statement reminded me of that small thing even though I’m still suffering waves. Although I don’t drink, being free from that (and any addiction) is another gift you’ve been given.

I applaud your desire and push to break fee from all that you were held back by and it’s amazing that you can enjoy your retirement, and cruises, fully alive and living!

I wish you more wonderful trips and a life full of wonder!  Congrats!
