So if you start with 0.5mg of Valium, does it mean that u can CT right away?

These are very low doses. In most cases, it is fine to quit at those amounts.

Doctors will usually have their patients quit from higher doses than those. And for the most part, the majority of patients will tolerate this OK if the dose is not substantially higher.

To put those doses into perspective:

  • 0.5mg Valium is quarter-pill of the smallest dose pill available (2mg)*
  • 0.025mg Klonopin is one-twentieth of the smallest dose pill available (0.5mg)
  • 0.05mg Ativan is one-tenth of the smallest dose pill available (0.5mg)
  • And 0.025mg Xanax is one-tenth of the smallest dose pill available (0.25mg).

* It is worth pointing out that Valium's relevantly long half-life and low potency means that although quitting a quarter-pill of Valium's smallest dose pill might seem high compared to the other benzodiazepines listed there, in reality it is probably the gentlest of the jumping-off points of those examples.

0,5mg Valium is nothing. You won't have seizures. Nothing.

Yes, you can jump from 0,5mg.

Personally I tapered from 1mg of Clonazepam which equals to 20mg of Valium. -0.25mg/two weeks. So I was done in 8 weeks. No problems. No seizures. No nothing. I've been off Clonazepam for a little bit over a month now. I feel somewhat ok today.

It's mostly all in my head. Knowing I'm not using them anymore hurts me more than the actual process of quitting.

You're going to be fine. That's a promise!

i could feel an immediate effect when i took 0.025mg or very little powder of Xanax when i was doing fast taper. 0.5mg V xan be still strong for some people
