SPEAK OUT by JULY 19! Draft Tapering Guideline

The Alliance for Benzodiazepine Best Practices is asking individuals with lived experience taking/withdrawing from benzodiazepines to comment on the draft of the first national benzodiazepine tapering guideline.

The draft guideline does not adequately reflect the lived experience of benzodiazepine patients and consequently has the potential to harm rather than help some patients (e.g. older adults who have been taking benzodiazepines for a long time and have multiple risk factors for a difficult withdrawal).

The Alliance collaborated with the Benzodiazepine Information Coalition and members of several online peer support communities to identify the top areas of concern in the draft tapering guideline.
