I have decided to end valium after about 10 years. The + to this is mu therapist is well versed what lies ahead. I will take my time and he is 100% on board. 

Its my jorney we have no timeline I a

 shooting for about 1/4 pill drop I take 20mgs a day every two week. If I find I am going to fast I can hold for as long as I need to take the next drop. 

He said go with what works for me. 

 

its sad some doctors don't understand Benzo withdrawals. 

 

Hell I detoxed from suboxone in 2016. Was a nightmare I tapered down for eight days then stopped. Took me about a year to feel normal again. 

 

Exercise always helps and can't hurt recovery

I am glad that you have therapist that is willing to work with you and let you taper at your own pace. You have lucked out in that regard. Many people have to search high and low for such people.

Is there any specific reason that you have decided to come off of Valium or is it simply just because you don't want to be on it anymore?

Nothing helped me more than exercise and I recommend getting some stamina built up in advance of your taper.
