What antibiotic to use for tooth abcess

I’ve got the pleasure of a tooth abcess just now,.I’m away to A and E for antibiotics today.

Any one know what’s the antibiotics to avoid any go with for this.

It is recommended to avoid the class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. This would be drugs like:

• Ciprofloxacin.
• Delafloxacin.
• Gemifloxacin.
• Levofloxacin.
• Moxifloxacin.
• Norfloxacin

Most dentists prescribe a penicillin type of antibiotic. I am allergic to these so I receive azithromycin.

Does anyone know what it is about fluoroquinolones that makes them so risky?

For the abscess, I would try the bentonite clay poultice.  It's said to draw out the infection.  Anything but pills for me after experiencing the hell that benzos cause.  Here's a link for help using the clay:

I also use only baking soda with Hydrogen Peroxide, and a little peppermint essential oil to brush my teeth.  Took away the sensitivity I had, and it's never come back.

I've found that some home-remedies are so much better, and most of all, safer than anti-biotics oregonlady PS I just want to add that it may take a bit more effort to do a home-remedy, but I will continue to search them out because ruining my taper with another drug is not an option for me.  I believe there is a time and a place for drugs to be used, but natural ways are my first go-to, not drugs, ever again for me
