A lot of sweating

I have started sweating profusely and I 'm wondering if this is also a symptom of coming off of rivotril or if I'm entering perimenopause? If yes, is there anything I can do to control it?

Hi Leanna,

Sweating is one of those things that I've struggled with since a young age. I am not overweight, in fact I am actually pretty fit. I've always had a lot of weird looks when people see me sweat, but it actually runs in my family.

I did notice that my entire body and system was "more" during my 30 day milestone of being sober. Some of the more prevalent symptoms were enhanced.

Example:

  • My back flared up with acne (usually my back never gets acne)
  • increased anxiety
  • increased sweating

As time went by, the above kind of went to normal levels.

When I was on benzos, the above pretty much never happened - hence I think my body is just trying to "catch up." Sweating is not dangerous as long you stay hydrated (some would argue its good and some people have trouble sweating)

If anyone asks, I simply just tell them, "I sweat a lot" and I get no further questions.

I even sweat during job interviews, but I still land the job.

Good luck

@[Le...], sweating is one of common withdrawal symptoms. I know lots of people who had it, including myself. My worst time of it was the ending of taper and first months of acute, last spring + summer. Unfortunately i don't know much how to avoid it. For me, it resolved by itself. I also wish Good Luck to you!)
