I'm suffering with this to at the moment. It's relentless sometimes. I know what your going through.

I keep getting all these past intrusive memories. Even memories of stuff that wouldn't normally bother me can be painful.

Every time in withdrawal, and my whole life, that I have dealt with harsh mental symptoms like anxiety and depression, it always felt like it would never go away for the whole time the symptoms were present.

Having that feeling is actually normal for anxiety and depression. If you feel fear (anxiety) and despair (depression), your brain is not going to assume the best by default.

So it is logical to conclude that the only time it will 'feel' like it is not going to last forever is when you are in a better state of mind. But sadly, a better state of mind is not the time you actually need the positive outlook.
