So with me being on Xanax for 6 months and on my 7 day CT is there any hope to going back to normal with life or is this it? No more alcohol no more going out just being me? Is this it?

No this isn't it. It is temporary and you will recover. Your only 7 days out and still in acute. You might not even get a protracted withdrawl. Even if you do that will also end. At this stage it is always rough. Keep strong!

You are also not to far out to reinstate and start tapering if things are to difficult to cope. It's an option.

I feel like I’m too far gone to turn back. Don’t even wanna look at those pills anymore. I just wanna be normal and happy again vs this. I got a lot going on besides this. But this is making it worse. 40 years old and feel like I’m 60 with the no sleeping and worrying. I just wanna have drink and zone out and watch a movie

The day will come when you can do that again. It won't last forever.

Really no life? No drinking or anything? How long were you using for?

It is temporary. After just a year I was able to eat different foods, to go out with friends, I was able to drink a small beer or a glass of wine. The time heals everything. You are just in the acute phase - it is most unpleasant but it is not forever. And the sleep will return. At the beginning it will be a little crazy - with so many dreams and maybe you will be awake a many times at night but with the time your sleep pattern will improve.
