Can these symptoms ever go away?

I mean I see some improvrments because I can walk and I have fewer brain zaps.

But insomnia, hypersensitivity to light and sound never go away and it seems like parallal lines forever.

And some symptoms are getting worse.

I had really good memory and I went to one of the great schools but now I seem like an old man with dementia.

And tremors are getting worse my life seems very unreal. Everything doesn't look real. If feels like a first person view game.

If WD is simply caused by low GABA level, will they ever go away if we recover the GABA level or are there other things that are really messed up?

I wonder if it is just cause by GABA and GABA receptors because some symptoms are getting worse although there must be at least SOME gaba revcovery during my WD.

Everythinf just doesnt makes sense

I don't think any particular chemical is responsible for it.  I think it is the way the cns is working.

does that mean that the cns might not get fully recovered?

NO. Absolutely not, your CNS is not permanently damaged. It just takes time. Don’t ever tell yourself it can’t recover because that’s 100% not the truth. It gets better, I promise.

I have spoken to Baylissa Frederick and all that is wrong with is your gaba hasn't come back and until it dies your cns will be symptomatic. It's non linear. I have been off 2 years and my symptoms are still string, but I can now watch some TV. Today I could walk further than yesterday. For me this process has been very slow but there have been some improvements. You can be checked out by specialists to rule out other things, but it usually just comes down to how your cns copes with withdrawal. It will decide when and how you recover.

Yes, these symptoms absolutely can go away! I have been recovered for such a long time that it’s even hard to remember the myriad of symptoms I dealt with on a daily basis. The cns will strive to find balance again.

I know it is frustrating to have symptoms, and wonder if you will ever heal. Although I always hung to the belief I would recover, like anyone else, I sometimes had my doubts. Reading Success Stories really helped me. I saw that others had walked the path before me and recovered. It validated my belief in healing.

You have to trust, accept and be patient. You can do this!

Did she mean that our theory that gaba wont come back and it will be symptomatic is wrong (which means they will be recovered)? or that this whole WD things are bad and wrong and gaba wont fully come back and it will be symptomatic?

No. Plenty heal. Your body needs to fix the way it works. I think it is far more complicated than a single chemical messenger though.

I have to believe I will fully heal one day. It is the one thing that keeps me going some days. I have to believe this will be a bad memory one day. I will never take my sanity for granted ever again.

Chemically, the manufacturers of these drugs don't even know how they work.  Science doesnt even know how many hormones our body makes. One example I learned way back, is that our body produces THC. It is actually the nuerotransmitter that kicks in and gives one the runners high, not dopamine.

Blood/brain barrier drugs can disregulate innumerable things. It's not just gaba.

The hormones in our brain are chemical messengers, also known as neurotransmitters, that are released by neurons and target different parts of the body. These hormones work together to create a communication loop between the brain and nervous system, which helps us interpret our environment. Some hormones that are especially important for our mood include:
  • Serotonin: A mood stabilizer that affects happiness and well-being. Lower serotonin levels, which can be caused by a lack of sunlight, have been linked to feelings of depression.
  • Dopamine: A hormone that plays a motivational role in the brain's reward system and is associated with feelings of pleasure.
  • Endorphins: A hormone that can help with stress and reduce feelings of pain.
  • Oxytocin: A hormone that is associated with feelings of love and trust, or bonding.

This is via chemical messengers in our brains, more commonly known as hormones. There are four main hormones that are primarily responsible for creating those feel- good emotions and sensations. They moderate our feelings of well-being and are influenced by our stress levels, self-care, and lifestyle choices. Here are the main happiness chemicals in your body: Endorphins Primarily helps one deal with stress and reduce feelings of pain. Serotonin Mood stabiliser – wellbeing, happiness. Dopamine Pleasure – Motivational role in brain's reward system. Oxytocin Bonding – Love and trust. DOPAMINE.

Happy Hormones: What They Are & How to Activate Them
Apr 5, 2024 — Read on for more about how happy hormones work, including the different types of activities that can activate them and how they benefit your overall well-being. What Are Happy Hormones? Endorphins, dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin are neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers released by neurons that target different parts of the body. They work, at times together, to facilitate a communication loop between the nervous system and brain, Wyatt explains. This internal conversation of sorts “allows us, as humans, to interpret situations within our environment.”

Other hormones in the brain include:
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), Acetylcholine, Glutamate, Norepinephrine, Prolactin, and Estrogen

Yeah I don't believe in that only GABA is to blame for everything. There is also the central nervous system and as there been no real clinical studies we can only do guessing.

The brain heals but it takes time. If we compared this to a head trauma caused by a stroke or car accident. Those things takes years to get better. And also it's again very individual.
