Using 6 mg Xanax to sleep please help!!

Hi there I use 6mg Xanax to sleep , will the withdrawal be easier as only using at night ? Please give me some some positive advice .many thanks 🙏

6mg Xanax is a high dose. For how long have you been taking it and at 6mg?

To answer your question, assuming extended use, probably not. Benzodiazepine dependency is primarily dependent upon for how long you have been taking the medication (varies between individuals). But frequency of use is also an important factor. Again, there will be variability between individuals, but the half-life of the particular benzodiazepine is important too. When taking a benzo with a fairly short half-life value (such as Xanax), taking it a couple of times week might not cause dependency. But taking diazepam (with its long half-life value) twice a week might result in dependency. But there are some z-drugs (which act very similarly to benzos) and one benzodiazepine (triazolam (Halcion)) with very short half-life values (about 2 hours), which when taken just once per day usually do not not result in dependency.

Alas, it is unlikely that dependency upon Xanax (with its 6-12 hour half-life) can be avoided when taken once-per-day for an extended period.
