Hi @[...], I am sorry to hear that you have been suffering for this long. You have been off Valium for 3 years correct? Do you take any other medications, otc meds, or supplements?

While most people will recover fully within 1 to 2 years there are many that require more time to fully recover.

Have you had a lot of medical tests done to rule out any other possibilities? Thyroid, Lyme's, Vitamin and hormone levels...etc.

If testing all comes back clear and the symptoms you are experiencing now were not there before benzo use then it is highly probable that it is still withdrawal just being stubborn.

If you would like support from other members as far out as you in recovery there is a 'Long Haulers' group on this site that you may want to join.

While 'waiting for recovery' is generally all most people can do, for some it is better to be more proactive. If there is a chance that your natural anxiety is just so bad that it is causing you pain and fear you may want to look into ways to help deal with that. Whether it be therapy, meditation, exercise, or diet change, sometimes just one small change in our lives can make a big difference.

For anxiety help I highly recommend Claire Weekes "Hope and Healing for your Nerves" either in book or audio format.
