Help with tapering.5 mg clonazepam

Hello buddies, can someone help me navigate how to taper my .5 mg clonazepam?

I’ve been on .5 mg for 5 years and tried stopping many times with no success.

I am glad you joined the Forum! 

People use different methods to taper clonazepam (link). Many members taper directly from clonazepam with the cut-and-hold method and there are people who switch to a longer acting benzodiazepine, as detailed in the Ashton manual. This publication is also very useful as it discusses symptoms as well and has a very positive tone. 

The recommended taper rate is reducing your previous dose about 5-10% every two or three weeks, some people reduce even slower. 

Have you experienced any issues when trying to taper before? Do you have any negative experiences with other benzodiazepines or psychiatric medications?
