Can anyone advise on SSRI and Benzo use at same time through long taper?

I have been on Lexapro and Ativan for 7 weeks now, and am going to be working on a tapering plan for both medications (not at same time), but imagine this could take a few months to complete.  Is it extremely harmful or damaging to be on both medications at the same time for months on end?
