Burning symptoms

I have burning in my mouth, throat, chest and stomach after I eat or sometimes without eating. I can’t take any antacids or PPI’s due to my withdrawals getting worse. Has anyone experienced this?

Are you sure it’s acid related? I am asking because I get acid burning inside but it’s not only my digestive tract so I am sure mine isn’t related to digestion. It feels like dragon’s breath.

I’m not sure if it’s acid. It feels like a burning sensation. I have the same feeling on my tongue.

Have same. If this has coincided with benzo reduction then burning can be a WD symptom. & it’s pretty horrible! My doctor actually diagnosed it as burning mouth syndrome which apparently is a thing. Seems others have this too & especially on a low dose benzo. Hopefully, it will subside for you.

I have it on my tongue, in my throat, stomach, chest but also back of neck and sometimes even head and legs. But It feels like deep cold burn. I have had GERD for years and it never felt anything like it. But yeah if it’s only the digestive tract it might as well be stomach related.  I could tolerate Gaviscon in the past. I couldn’t tolerate PPIs. Was on them for years and had to wean myself off because I was reacting to them. Somehow my stomach issues are way better than when I was on them.

Thanks for your input. I have tried gaviscon but it makes withdrawals worse. I had an endoscopy last July. Maybe I need another one. Ugh all these medical tests have put a financial strain on me.

Ugh sorry. I remember reacting to other seemingly benign otc meds for heartburn but the Gaviscon was ok. I don’t take it anymore.  I hope you find something.

Antacids decrease acidity, when heartburn is usually a lack of acid. Everyone I know who took prevacid or other OTC heartburn meds got worse, and had a hell of a time getting off of them. I know youhave all over burning, which is different.

When I start to burn, I drink organic pure cranberry juice (no added sugar or anything else). It is a powerful antihistamine and has lots of amino acids we may not be getting form diet. It stops my heartburn pretty fast.

I'm thinking it could help, just due to it's antihistamine properties. At least, it will give your digestive tract some R&R.

If your not used to it, it can be very bitter. Sipping it over ice helps if that is the case.

It only takes about half a cup to get an effect.
