Help with Withdrawal

Hey guys. Was on between 0.5-1mg of lorazepam daily for 4 months and did a short taper with Valium but unfortunately had to stop because Valium made me extremely suicidal. Day 5 off of Diazepam, I feel like I am doing ok, definitely not amazing, but I feel like some of my symptoms have improved. I still have extreme anxiety, dpdr (both present before benzos but definitely worse at the moment) and occasionally some headaches and dry wrenching. I’m just wondering when some people experienced these symptoms subsiding?

What was your dose before you stopped the Valium and did you substitute it with another benzodiazepine or are you benzo free?

At 4 months, you were on the medication long enough for your body to become dependent but at least you weren't on it for years like we see so often.  Those who are on the drug for a shorter duration can hopefully expect to recover in terms of weeks and months instead of months and years.  Your symptoms should gradually lessen but it will be difficult to recognize this because this process causes us so much fear and pain and for some reason, only allows us to experience negative emotion.
