For nearly 20 years, BenzoBuddies has assisted thousands of people through benzodiazepine withdrawal. Help us reach and support more people in need. More about donations here.

Don’t know what to do now.

Recommended Posts

I am new to this forum.

I am on .5 mg of alprazolam twice a day. I have tapered down from .5 mg four times a day and have been at my current dose for several years. This is as low as I can go and function but now I’m noticing that I’m having withdrawal symptoms before my next dose, so how can I taper from here if I’m already having withdrawals? Is there anything that helps the withdrawal symptoms?
Please help thank you

@[Ma...]Welcome to Benzo Buddies!  You will find lots of help and support here.

It sounds like you are experiencing what is known as inter-dose withdrawal.  This is a common problem and it can be a bit tricky to navigate if you are planning on continuing to taper.

It would probably be best if you posted under the "Benzodiazepine Taper Strategies" forum as you will probably get a lot more feedback there.
