Almost 5 months

Hey everyone. I’m almost 5 months off K (146 days) and i feel as though I’m getting worse. I did a safe 8 month taper. My head pressure is my worst symptom. It’s really affecting my quality of life. I do get windows…they are rare but they do happen. Even if it’s just a few hours. I have to believe there’s light at the end of this long tunnel. I have severely low vitamin D and iron levels but every time i try a small dose of either one, it sends me into a hellish wave. I really need to get these levels up. Idk what to do. I tried liquid iron and vitamin d. The liquid iron lessened my head pressure drastically with the first dose but day 2 i regretted it. I need help. I can’t do this much longer.

Hi there, so sorry your going thru this with vitamins and minerals. I too have that problem.  I have learned to eat these thru food. It's tough because milk is difficult to have now but I must for the fat! Search foods with iron, vit d etc, you should be able to find them. Vitamin d has always been a tough one for me but I know that in withdrawalanynare lacking d vitamins. I am getting tested this week to ck all minerals and vitamins. So I definitely understand how you feel.

I’m sorry to hear that.  Yes, things can get worse before they get better.  I know that’s hard to hear that but acceptance is sometimes a necessary coping strategy. 
 

What dose of Vitamin D did you use?  I found some 400 IU capsules online.

@[su...] I am so sorry you're having trouble with your supplements. I have to take vitamin D, also, and I need iron, but I don't take a supplement for that. I was advised to try iron-rich foods. Some things that help with iron absorption, too, like eating foods rich in Vitamin C and avoiding tea and coffee with my meal. For my vitamin D3, I take it first thing in the morning on am empty stomach for better absorption. Perhaps if you try taking your supplements at a different time of day, they might not affect you so adversely?

Oh I just took vit d3 2000 iu but can't take them so milk eggs, you in food. Almond butter,  foods rich in vit d.

I have a bag full of vit and minerals I cannot take. Along with medications and other supplements. Histamine issues to foods,  so it's not easy but I'm almost finished with my taper thank God.  Them on to the business of healing. Lots of tests, specialists etc. Gotta do everything I can to heal, time I suppose is the best medicine. And a smile of course 😊

5000iu is not a small dose of vitamin D.  Doctors will tell you to take that much if your levels are low.  I’ve read that anything more than 3000iu is excessive and has no additional efficacy.   
 

Any drugstore will sell 1000iu capsules.  The daily requirement is 600iu which most people can get through diet.

Wheat bread has phosphorus, there's so many ways you can get what u need by eating. Fruit us tough because of sugar, but we have to have vit c and natural sugar for glucose. I eat 5x a day, 2 lg meals, 3 small meals as I'm trying to keep weight on. But what It's what I can't eat due to histamine intolerance issues or sensitivity allergies idk just yet. Benzos appear to play a role in histamine intolerance as I noticed on many posts here. So off to the gi and immunology for testing. 

I hope u do well with your diet, we need our health going thru this process.

Why do u need so much, are u that low on vit d? Are u in the USA? O can buy 5000 iu 2000 iu anywhere. I don't understand. But I'll know my levels soon enough. If I need more d, I'll have to suck it up I guess and take it in supplement,  hopefully not, it causes stinging all over my body, face. All of them do that.

I got my test results back, and I am on red alert for so many vitamins and minerals...and they all seem to have a connection...still researching it....don't know if the benzos caused this or not.  Good luck

It seems I am unable to absorb the vitamins and minerals...don't know if I have the strength to go through all the testing that I may need.  My inability to absorbs seems to have been there pre-benzos so not sure what it all means and too foggy headed to find out.

I watched a YouTube video of a guy last night re:histamines - he could only eat chicken and rice with eggs in it omg!  Good Luck with all of your tests and congrats on finishing your taper

Hey, wow,. Yes connection to benzos. Medications in general strip our nutrients and vits so I'm sure it's that. I hope u get some answers soon. Search foods high in those you need, at least it's a start.

O hope your feeling ok. What did the results show?

Enjoy those and document everything....it might help.  I am noticing that my blood pressure is down again...I have had chronic low blood pressure for most of my life and I know that is making things worse.  Crazy stuff.  I do hope you figure things out and congratulations for being off this long.  You have people cheering you on :)

Haven't finished just yet. Histamine intolerance. You know. I'm hearing so much about it.  I know I have allergies to foods, o hope it's not that for me or you. But I've heard the healing begins after withdrawal so let's hope so

That's why the crazy diet I'm on. Ever since hysterectomy and gallbladder surgery I've had histamine issues but took antihistamines, so I had no idea just that I couldn't eat certain fruits like banana, oranges, pineapple.then we moved where I don't have regular allergies but can't take antihistamine because I have hyponatremia so it stinks.so I eat a crazy diet until i can get this brnzo thing done. Down to 3/4mg per day, yay! But boy am i.miserable!

Red Flags;  Vitamin B11, B5, Choline, K2, Valine, Arginine, Asparagine, Glutamic Acid, Proline, Phosphorus, Silica, Zinc, GLA Omega 6, Lecithin, Nickel, Strontium, Copper, Molybdenum, Silicon, and Sulfer LOL!

Many of these seem to need each other or affects each other...lots of research to keep me busy!  that with the MRI results, blood pressure and anemia...I am pretty sure I have brain damage at this point!

I'm sure we all do. Wow, that's quite a list. I don't think I really want to know mine but I know I have to.going on Tuesday to get started if I can walk lol. I can't deal with anymore health issues, this has to stop. I really lost it last night. So much anger in me from this. People angry here about big pharma. I got in and became really angry wanted to start a class action suit! That's the old me, I'm not the person for that. I'm sick like everyone else. But such anger expressed here. It really got to me. Om here to support and to be supportive. Bit I cried my eyes out and set me back. But today I saw a beautiful post by winter sun and I knew she felt the same.

It's time to focus on healing, positive love and support for each other, thats why I'm here.

TY.....you have such a positive attitude.  I love it and just know you are going to do great!  For me, I am not sure how much fight I have left.  It's not just the K, I am polydrugged and just doing my own thing with them.  I have oodles of meds I am not taking.  I have had relief from the twitching and cramping for 2 days tho so that is a bonus.  It seems I feel better the less I eat!
