Brain shrinkage with long-term klonopin use

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new to the forum.  I have noticed that since using klonopin for anxiety for the last 6 years, my brain seems to be slower and I cannot do as much as I use to.  I am struggling with executive reasoning, memory loss, and it seems that time just passes slowly but maybe that's because I do not have a demanding job anymore (I use to be an Executive Asst, now am a Receptionist).  Anyone can relate?  Sometimes, all I do is just stare out at the window.  I'm not sure if it's a stress response or what?

Hey @[Do...],

Welcome to BB!

This seems pretty typical for benzo use in general.  The whole class of drugs is a central nervous system depressant.  A lot of folks have trouble with reasoning/thinking or general "brain fog".

Are you still on klonopin?  Thinking of getting off?

Either way, you're in a great place here!
