I have a theory that waves and withdrawal symptoms felt years after cessation may be related to the fact that benzos are stored in fat, just like THC (metabolytes linger for months in chronic smokers).  LSD also is said to be stored in the spine, and that's the theory behind the "flashbacks".

There's no consensus on whether sweat is really useful to get rid off toxins (but I believe so).  I just found a study on the benefits of sauna to detox:
