Help getting of Lorazepam (Temesta)

[Ve...]

Recommended Posts

Hi,

At this moment I'm tapering Lorazepam (3 x 1 mg). I was adviced to start with the afternoon dose, next the morning dose, finally the evening dose.
I started with the afternoon dose a few months ago, stabilized on 0,5 mg for about 4 weeks (did not help much) and am now on 0,3 mg in the afternoon so:

1 mg morning, 0,3 mg afternoon, 1 mg evening.

I have severe withdrawal symptoms (a.o. nerve pain in back, neck, ribcage, gastro intestinal issues, extreme fear). I'm wondering if it's just caused by tapering or if I also suffer from interdosal withdrawal symptoms, because the pain, fear worsen throughout the day.

Does anyone has advice how to taper the Lorazepam? Maybe change it in 4 doses (4 x 0,6 mg per day), or 3 x 0,8?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

P.s. Diazepam is not an option, had a bad reaction on it.

Before trying 4 doses I think you should start by evening out your doses and spreading out your cuts evenly. The goal is to avoid big fluctuations of the drug in your body. For example you could try 0.8+0.7+0.8mg (3*0.8 would be an up-dose) and see whether you stabilize after a week or so. Also, if you've been making say 0.1mg cuts, it'd be better to alternate the doses you're cutting like 0.7+0.7+0.8mg -> 3*0.7mg and so on.
