Brain Fog with Gut Issues

[mi...]

Recommended Posts

When my Benzo Belly symptoms are at their worst I get the most unbearable toxic feeling in my head like its full of cotton or poison and I can’t think of make sense of anything. When the belly stuff settles down sometime even with the passing of a little gas it often makes the brain fog settle dramatically. Bowel movements give me no relief of brain fog. It’s all about cramping/trapped gas tension in gut sending signals to my brain that feel like inflammation. What the hell is going on.

Hey @[mi...],

I don't have your exact issues, but I have noticed some strange connections between symptoms that don't seem like they should go together.  I thought I'd run my working theory by you.  When I had covid all my taste and smell wires got crossed.  For example, mint toothpaste tasted and smelled like onions.  I wonder if something similar is happening as our brains are being sort of rewired during our withdrawal and that temporary (hopefully) incorrect connections are being made.

I don’t know, but I can tell you that I feel like things don’t connect when they should and then sometimes they over fire when they shouldn’t. Like all morning long I had the most severe brain fog and felt like I was being poisoned like I needed to do a sauna and sweat out all the gross stuff I was feeling inside me and my skin felt clammy and weird and I was dizzy and couldn’t think. Well, about a half hour ago, my whole entire pelvic cavity relaxedand I passed and I walked outside and the air smelled like the holidays and I got in the car. I went for a drive. All the physical stuff is temporarily gone. My brain feels like it works and my gut doesn’t hurt for the moment, even though it’s a little sensitive. The second it starts cramping up again. It’s like my vagus nerve must get engaged and start sending signals that it shouldn’t and triggering other systems to overreact.
