I`m having fatigue hit in fits and starts too.  Some days I`ve got energy and another I can barely drag myself off the couch.  Great news your mental sx have passed.  I hope mine are waning too.

Yes fatigue is bad I'm so tired and wired.

Yes!!!   I have the every other day thing going on IvL, one day I think I`ll get through this, then the next day I`m worse.  This affects not just my muscles but my mental sxs too.  Yesterday I woke with thoughts that  there wasn`t a hope in hell, I`ll ever recover, today I woke with positivity. This plays tricks and lies to us ..all .the .time !

I`ll gladly be your buddy.

Hai buddy, Thank you for your reaction . I recognize exactly what you write … The last 5  days I have à good period ..positive thinking and I am feeling energy .. ( not all the time nut more than I had ) that is so  wunderful after such à long period . I hope I stay in this wave , it is like coming  home …. In december I will have an operation ( new knee )  . That eill be heavy bcause it its à long recouvery and the energy is completely gone for months . Carry on nevercantell ! Three Will come more good days . How long are you benzo’s free ?

Ik zit nu op 0.23 mg V en donderdag 16 nov. jump ik.
Heb enorm veel last van mijn spieren.

I could do with some help guys!

I created a group for us muscle pain sufferers but it`s still not been approved.

I`ve messaged a mod, I think it was Pamster?   Still no reply or approval of our group.

Perhaps we`re not allowed to create our own groups?  IDK?

Could you help please? I may have done something wrong or we need to do something else to get the show on the road.  TY

Hi nevercantell, I am not really sure if this true and I don’t know if they will respond back but, I did see someone else that tried to make a group the other day. And some one replied saying that the admins usually don’t want groups that talks about withdrawal symptoms. They usually prefer for these type of subjects to be in their on forums rather than being in group with multiple Subjects about muscle stiffness.

which is actually pretty strange, because they have a long healer group on here.🙄

If all that said, I am willing to ask to make sure.🙂

Hello @[Da...] and welcome to Benzo Buddies!

We’re glad you’ve joined the forum. Would you mind sharing with us your current situation? Are you taking benzo, tapering or in recovery?

It’s important to remember how efficient benzos are at relaxing the muscles. When taken away or reduced it can take time for this issue to resolve.

Muscle and nerve pain were my longest lasting symptoms. They lasted until my full recovery, high to me was about 15 months. Everyone will be different and have a different recover trajectory. I believe that the cns will work until it is back in balance, it did for me.

I'm confused and tired... 2 days ago, i was happy to realize my neck muscles relaxed. They'd been squeezed and "mad" for a year. It was so strange to turn the neck without pain. And yesterday, all of a sudden my back got clenched. It's painful even when i lie. I know it's my pattern of the withdrawal( My muscles takes turn in squeezing but it exhausts...

Thanks Joshua, that makes sense why the group hasn`t been approved.  I`ve not heard anything from asking but if you`d like to try, that would be great.

@[sh...] and @[ne...], thank you! i feel so sorry for both of you and myself as well. We will hold on and hope for better days to come and they will!) Yes, i agree it is our brain trying to figure out how to get back to normal after having been stunned with benzo.

YES!! This is what I came to post about.

As context, I was a competitive athlete, still trained daily BUT had to give it all up except for walking and yard work on good days...I am very accustomed to aches and pains and sprains and strains and general soreness that comes with wrestling, boxing etc on the daily

BUT this is the stuff of nightmares. I feel as stiff as a board and I can easily sprain a muscle. I get spasms lasting up to 3 minutes, excruciating to say the least. I'm literally as stiff as a board. Massage does help but the chiropractor was hurting me though i used to enjoy it. I take hot baths, massage, magnesium, heat pad....nothing really works. But I after almost 4 years I am down to 0.86mg from 15 mg of valium....

Hold on friend.

Thank you for reaching out! Me too I had sprains and strains before but it’s so  crazy and unbelievable that this can happen by doing nothing… I can hardly move my right arm anymore and it hurts as if I had pulled the muscles!? I believe it comes from the spasms and cramps!? what is your believe? Thanks 🍀

I went for sport professionally through out my childhood and youth. My muscles were strong and flexible and i did know what aches, sprains, etc meant. But what i have now can't be compared to that... It's much worse.  I think perhaps my muscles got hyper-relaxed with benzo. A neurologist told me they were very weak then but i didn't connect it with benzo and neither did the doctor.  And that's why it is so hard now... They are like crazy.

ow yes for me too, the pain is much worse!!! I once read a success story of a woman who just turned 60 years old and she wrote that the muscles strength came back once she was completely healed. And also the overall bodycondition got much better. So this is a very positive reminder that we too will heal and get our strength back… one sunny day… 🍀

unfortunately I can’t find the story anymore.

It would be interesting to read. Success stories related to the issues we sre suffering from are most welcome)

if anyone can chime in for me kindly let me know. I don't want to talk any kid of medicine I do nott have to but im having terrible symptoms from my Disc herniations or Maybe the Klon cessation is adding to it..

My Restless legs are  bad past few weeks,  tried to fight it off on my own but its a lot to bare. also getting the feeling of Planter Facitis through this journey as well, I noticed it last spring when I tapered from 2mg to 1mg in a week, was a big jump but I didn't realize that at the time

Anyhow my pain specialist is suggesting Flexoral or Baclofen for RLS.

Must admit im a little hesitant & scared  to start taking any meds now.. however I know I wouldn't take it everyday.  Maybe once or twice a week when I am suffering badly & need some relief. If anyone could share their thoughts or experience one these 2 muscle relaxants or better yet could offer a more natural approach kindly let me know. this is getting unbearable at times.

@[no...], i haven't taken the relaxants and don't know about flexoral. But i know that people fighting benzo withdrawal shouldn't take Baclofen.  It works through the same gaba receptors and so may put off their recovery.

Thanks all: As to what causes it, I'm not sure but I suspect that GABA is far more relevant to numerous functions of the body. One of the admins - pamster - pointed me to an article someone wrote on here about the brain healing from benzo's.  In some ways I think our brain keeps a tab of every little injury and overuse and sends a message to our body - inappropriately - that something is wrong.

For example, in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I injured both elbow joints 2x each - swollen joints / bursitis / tears etc.  The last injury was 2017 or 2018 and yet the elbows always recovered and I never noticed the pain again until this summer when I hit the 1 mg mark. Both my elbows ACHE!!!... Everything is stiff. Every injury I ever had is being relived....

I hope all of you the best. we will get through this!

Could you point me to the article that pamster gave you please.   I often wonder why our muscles get painful, I`d love to see any explanation.

I totally agree with this! Every single injury I had during my life showed up since I jumped 😵‍💫when I am lucky only for a few hours but the injury from a wrist surgery hurts when ever I am in a wave. I guess this again is our body and brain trying to figure out homeostasis….

Today back in chemical fear… We did have a huge storm last night and although I am not afraid of the storm I woke up in high anxiety… again just the injured brain..

I know the fear and the pain will fade again but at the moment it’s just overwhelming 😰
