Is it a possibility to contact your doctor and explain what you are experiencing and that probably you need to take things slowly, so that you can have a better guide and a better supply of what you eventually need?

How much ativan were you on? How much valium did he put you on?

I was on .5 to 1mg Ativan per day depending on my symptoms - Dr gave me 4mgs Diazepam which i believe doesnt equate to .5 of Ativan just under. Feeling the difference with anxiety lingering throughout the day. She wants to drop me by a mg each week. Thats to rapid a taper? It seems most GPs in my country have no idea about tapering and probably dont even know what the Ashton method is

0.5 to 1 mg every 14 days is what is advised.

And I live in a western European country and have met a lot of doctors and also psychiatrists last years but non of them knew the Ashton Manual. Most of them just say "take off a quarter of your 1mg ativan pill or half every two weeks".

And I have to admit, that works when you are just on them for a short while, but not when you are in withdrawal.

These people have degrees but that is practically it.
