A couple pretty ladies doing a Chris Hillman Gram Parsons cover from the album: Return Of The Grievous Angel-A tribute to Gram Parsons.

A Bob Dylan cover, says Emmylou but not sure. surely John would know if he saw this. Beautiful and "spiritually inspiring" regardless.

Thanks, J, for the Juanita post. Thats one of my favorite Gram tunes and the video was like watching angels.  That's a good CD, by the way, if you like Gram and I recommend it.  If you want the real Gram, then "Sacred Hearts & Fallen Angels; The Gram Parsons Anthology" on Rhino is the one to have.

Yodeling - oh, yeah.  I wouldn't have thought you a fan of such but yes I've got a lot of old Western yodeling stuff.  Lots of possibilities (Hank Williams did a little, Jimmy Rodgers of course, Sons of the Pioneers; too many to list).  Here's a couple:

The first woman to be a country radio star:

And some of my favorite modern day yodelers (although this one only features Ranger Doug; couldn't find one with four-part stuff which they do).  It provides a little history of the Western yodel style, too, so listen real close:

I have such a tough time appreciating this type of music, it's almost like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.   I'm working on it though teach!

Pam refers to posts that I removed, not to the Riders (well, maybe them too, but I don't think so).  My response has to do with the removed posts.  Just so there's no confusion.

Well, sorry Pam, but I had to do it (and I was pushed !).  That's why I usually don't play the old stuff for most folks and tried to refrain from posting any here as it seems the modern listener just can't relate to anything but what they heard/hear on the radio (even if it was originally done by one of the ancients).  That must be why I got the bomb threat.  OK, no more of that sort of thing from me; promise.  Now, back to your regularly scheduled program ....

John, I certainly don't want you to stop posting what you love.  How else am I going to broaden my horizons unless I'm exposed?  I am not responsible for that bomb threat, promise!  :-X

The great thing about this medium and many others is it's accompanied by an on/off switch of which I can make use if things get too much for me.  Please don't refrain from posting, if worse comes to worse, I'll simply exit the link.  This is the push you spoke of John, I encourage you to continue posting your wonderful eclectic array of musical treats!

I too feel frustration when credit is not given, I find myself resenting popular artists who steal segments of others music into their songs without credit given.  >:(

I don't want to post stuff that grates on people and they don't want to hear and that just causes them to hit the off button.  What's the point in that ?  Just takes up space and time.

i'm only stopping by y'all (is that how you say it john?)

i was looking for something else and came upon this elton john song.

the sound quality is poor.

i'm not even a fan.

plus it's long and the first 2 mins are just crowd noise.

sounds tempting, doesn't it...!

nevertheless i find the energy of this phenomenal and it pulled me to the dancefloor!
