Pushing through

@[...], I’m not sure what you mean when you ask is it safe, the answer is yes, its safe but the real question is, will it help?  And the answer is, we don’t know.

Some have reinstated and regretted it because they reach tolerance quickly and have to start the process over.  Others have reinstated, stabilize and taper and are glad they did because they were in such a bad place.  Still others reinstate and we never see them again so we don’t know how their story ends.

Bottom line is, if you can’t stand this anymore then you have a decision to make and whatever it is, we’ll support you.  For those of us who suffer with benzodiazepine withdrawal symptoms, there is no easy way out.  Whatever method we choose is painful, some are more painful than others but we all suffer.

This was an incredibly difficult thing for me to accept, I’d always been able to talk, joke or wiggle my way out of situations I found myself in until this.  It’s very humbling to discover we’re powerless and little control over the process.

I know you’re facing an impossible decision and I’m sorry but we’ll be here for you, whatever it is.

What was the last dose you took, was it .5 mg?  If you do take .5 mg, be sure to give it enough time to become fully effective.  You may be tempted to increase the dose for relief but patience is key.  If, after a few days the .5 mg doesn’t appear to be helping, you may need to raise it, some members have said they’ve had to raise their dose when they reinstate.

@[...], I was given Prozac during my withdrawals. I will say this intensified my withdrawals and I felt like I was thrown into horrible panic attacks, terrible palpitations and I was so panicked I became confused. I stopped taking the Prozac and once it had left my body, After a few days I felt some relief. Hope this helps.

I hope you’ll let us know how it goes, too many people disappear so if you keep talking to us, it will help us know what to say to the next person.
