Valium taper

Need some input on whether 10 mg valium is safe to crossover to from 2 mgs ativan? My NP said she would be happy to switch me over and allow me to take my time with a taper but the chart she's using i guess says the equivalent diazepam dose is 10 and I thought that is too low. Suggestions?

According to the Ashton manual, 1 mg of ativan is equal to 10 mg of valium so you should be converted to 20 mg . 

I am in process of switching from klonopin 0.5 mg to valium 10 mg.
