IIH

Hello all,

For those following my story I want to provide a lil update. First of all, please remember that the reason there aren’t more “happy posts” on here, is because people this far out (like me) typically only crawl back to benzobuddies when they want to whine. Ok maybe it’s just me. Like a symptom came back? WHAT! I must complain about it! Otherwise, I’m out living life!

Anywho, after researching my remaining symptoms that really just won’t fade away (pulsatile tinnitus, hearing my right eyeball move, and rushes of head pressure when standing/lying on stomach with head propped/bending over), I’m realizing I might have a mild undiagnosed case of IIH. (IIH is not life threatening btw, for anyone who is worried they might have this too). I’m assuming it’s LIKELY caused by once being polydrugged and the hellish, life altering withdrawal that entailed after cold turkeying from a MASSIVE dose of K many years ago. I also have some POTS flare-ups once in awhile, but other than that, I’m doing fine. Oh and coffee still gives me brain fog, but I’m reading coffee makes IIH worse too. So maybe it’s all interconnected somehow. Anyway, I’m not on any meds and I don’t drink alcohol. My life is fine. Other than this dang hypochondria. My hypochondria is like, really severe if we’re gonna be completely honest.

oh and I had a good laugh, going over my old posts the other day. Me in 2020 saying “I’m feeling healed!” LOL NO. When you “think” you’re feeling healed, you have no clue how much healing will happen after that. Anyway I hope this helps some hypochondriac-ridden person searching the terms headrush and blood rushing to head and all the scary stuff I experienced and spent days and days and days, (ok months), researching! I also can’t find anyone on benzobuddies who can hear their eyes move. The doc said it’s possibly a symptom of IIH too, BUT I read that people in Effexor wd also deal with it. Anyway, sounds like lightsabers. Not sure how else to explain it. My pulsatile tinnitus is mostly gone now unless I turn my head certain ways. That’s nice because it used to POUND MY EARDRUMS LIKE CRAZY. Ok back to life! Tootles

Hey there!  I ha to look up IIH.  Cerebral fluid build-up???  That sounds scary.    Anyway, I do hope this will fade away eventually.    So glad you are back to living your life.   Even though I am sorry you are having a few symptoms, it is great to have you back on the forum if only for a little while.

You just vent away, all you need to anytime you need to :)  You really came across in good spirits even with all you are facing.  Nice to meet you, I've only been here 5 months so I still have lots of people I can meet, that have been here longer than I.

I had to smile because with all your stuff going on, I just admire your attitude and truly enjoyed meeting you, Denise:hug::smitten:

Eh actually it’s benign! It used to be called benign intracranial hypertension and it’s hard to diagnose without a lumbar puncture. Makes me wonder if that’s what causes the head pressure in all of us, our spinal fluid going cray cray. Lol. Anyways, I didn’t have ANY pressure symptoms today so I might have to bite my tongue. It’s like the head rushes just went away. No symptoms actually at all? Not once today. Hope you’re ok!

Hey, just come across this post. Noticed I had this annoying whining/whiring noise in my left ear in time with my heartbeat. Plus yes the eyeball thing is weird. Every time they move it's like a scratch sound? Like they need lubing up? Lol! I got that writing this. Just come back from docs about the ear thing and he's referred me to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist near me.
