Trivia for the hardcore Ghostbusters fan. Which of these "terror dogs" is Zuul the Gatekeeper, and which is Vinz Clortho the Keymaster?

Couldn't find screen grabs that didn't hint at the answer, so here's a reproduction of the animation puppet with interchangeable horns...

Zuul is on top. And that figure is amazing.

Yep! Zuul's horns point down, and Vinz's point up.

And yes, it's an amazing figure which I don't regret paying $$$ for. It was made from the original mold and the detail is incredible. Love the terror dog.

The same company put out a 1:1 bust last year. It's tempting, but I'm happy with just the figure.

You own it? I hate you.

Sticking with Ghostbusters, who voices the character of Zuul? And what was Aykroyd's original name for the film?

Zuul was voiced by director Ivan Reitman. And Aykroyd's original name for the film was "Ghost Smashers".

How about this? Early in the film, Venkman is conducting ESP testing (mixed with a second psychological experiment) using Zener cards. Invented by Karl Zener in the 1930's, these cards have been widely used for such testing ever since. The cards feature 5 different symbols. What are these 5 symbols?

It says here that Reitman also voiced Slimer.

Uh, wavy lines, star, circle, square, triangle.

Q. Why did Columbia Pictures have to pay a licensing fee to use the name "Ghostbusters"?

"The Ghost Busters" is a live-action children's sitcom that had a short run in 1975. It was produced by Filmation, which put out a cartoon version in '86 to capitalize on the movie's success. Hence why the cartoon based on the movie was called "The Real Ghostbusters". And now you know.

There's an interesting connection to my previous King Kong question. The actor in the gorilla suit is Bob Burns, known for his amazing collection of movie props. Burns owns the Kong armature that was used for most of the film. He was invited by Peter Jackson to the Kong set, and he and his wife were given parts as extras marvelling at Kong loose in New York.

Here he is with his most prized possession, which he has repeatedly refused to sell to the Smithsonian.

You're holding up the wavy lines. Please don't shock me.

Here's another tidbit.

This is the last known picture of Kong before he was stripped clean in the '60s. It was discovered that the rubber was beginning to eat away at the metal, so it was steam-cleaned to its present state. When the person was told what he was cleaning, he exclaimed "I'm killing King Kong! I'm killing King Kong!"

Bzzt. Sorry, not sorry.

Good to finally know why they called it "The Real Ghostbusters". I always thought that was weird. Totally had a crush on Egon as a kid, which translated into the cartoon, even.

RIP Ramis

Elvis' hip gyrations earned him what nickname? And what did Steve Allen make him do on his show so he wouldn't dance, which Presley felt was humiliating?

Hey, you're asking two questions- is that allowed?    I thought the cameramen were just told to keep the cameras above the waist!  Elvis was the "bad boy" and Pat Boone was the "good boy" even though Elvis was giving money to charities and Boone was running a real estate scam!

Steve Allen, purveyor of good taste that he was, had "Elvis the Pelvis" dress in formal attire and serenade a basset hound with "Hound Dog".

How many freckles does Howdy Doody have, and what do they represent?

Answer: 48 freckles for the 48 states. Alaska and Hawaii were admitted in 1959, the year before Howdy Doody went off the air, and I guess they didn't bother adding two more freckles.
