That's what I thought!

Saying "the anime, Akira" is a bit like saying "the book, The Bible", isn't it?

Also, I hate the term "anime". Anime ruined it.

I have these. And looking for a picture to post, I discovered that this company made 2 other series' worth of these, so now I am resisting the pull of ebay. All your fault.

I have the figures from McFarlane Toys in a box somewhere, and an animation cel of the exact moment in my profile pic hanging on my wall.

Dunno what movie you're referring to, but the director could be Miike Takashi.

I did not even know that ever happened, but that sounds amazing and I am going to have to look that up later. Just the picture alone is amazing. They should have stuck together and done a "Traveling Wilburys" thing for a while!

I haven't the faintest idea. Makes me think of The Leftovers. Maybe it's a bible story?

Could also be a myth. Those are f'ed up, too.

I got nothin'. Do tell.

What is this a depiction of?

It is the sea nymph Thetis dipping her son Achilles in the River Styx, making him invulnerable, except, as you know, for the heel by which she held him. He was killed in the Trojan War by the prince, Paris, who shot an arrow guided by Apollo into his heel.

I used to think I knew stuff. Then I met you, Shook.

Somewhere along the line my brain replaced all the useful things I ever learned with, like, the words to every song I ever heard.

As Jack said in The Shining,

Things could be better, Lloyd. Things could be a whole lot better.
