I did not know that! I watched Barbarella once but I think I was, like, 18 and on acid? Or something, and I don't remember it AT ALL.

Here a question that's just an excuse to post this picture:

What 70s science fantasy film featured Sean Connery in THIS outstanding getup?

Well I saw Barbarella  in 1968, yeh Im pretty old, and I dont remember the evil doctor(was he prescribing Klonopin?) but my boyfriend was so turned on by Fonda, his eyes rolled to the back of his head.  Now Fonda says she hated making that movie because the directors were abusive and treated her like a sex object.

The title is buried in the old memory banks. I'm pretty sure it starts with a "z".

I'll take it!  It's "Zardoz". Terrible movie.

Ok, Connery made dreck like Zardoz but refused the lead in what excellent mini-series, cuz doing TV was considered beneath a film star at the time?

That's a hard one. I feel like it's going to be so obvious. I am thinking popular miniseries from that time period...Roots? But that's too early. V? But that's too late. I was not even a year old so definitely didn't see it live. Another hint?

Historical drama based on a popular novel set in another country. The main protagonist was based on a real historical figure, Will Adams, the first Englishman to travel to this country. I can say no more.

The role was played by Richard Chamberlain, which turned out to be perfect casting.

Highly recommended viewing. Make sure you see the entire series, and not the version that was edited down to movie-length for sale to international markets.

Well it's lived a quiet life on home video. I only saw it rebroadcast on specialty channels once in a blue moon up here in Canada.
