Audrey II. There's an alternate ending that was filmed in which several of these alien plants grow to Godzilla proportions and wreck havoc on the city. It was a bonus feature on the original DVD release, but the studio didn't authorize it and they were pulled from the shelves. I luckily found one and sold it for muchos de dinero on eBay. But that was over 20 years ago, and now it's on YouTube for free...

The actor Jack Palance was the presenter and that year other nominees included Miranda Richardson for Damage and Judy Davis for Husbands and Wives...he read the last nominee name as the winner...
