Side pain from riding stationary bike?

Hello all. I got a stationary bike a few weeks ago and have been riding a couple miles on it a couple times a week. Yesterday I got some pretty intense pain on my left side of my waist. It subsided but I’m feeling some dull pain today and noticed some pain off and on on my right side as well. Do stationary bikes work our core muscles, too? I should probably let it rest a few days. Anyone else experience this?
