Search problem?

I can never find old threads using search.

 

I am trying to find the thread that was about recommending things on Netflix but if I search for Netflix it only shows posts where that is in the body of the message not in the heading.

 

Any ideas what I’m doing wrong.

 

Is there a way to search for words that appear in the headings of threads?

Up right hand corner.

search box there

I typed in Netflix movies pressed enter

and this one headed the list.

 

I think the secret is make sure you are on the main start page

( Welcome to Benzo buddies) of the forum with all the directories listed

before you search  or type in what you are looking for I think

it then covers all the

many various departments as such and it searches in them all.  I think thats how it works

I think the search bar  has to include  "Movies" in search and top one shows moved

and if you follow that link it takes you to the one you posted on.

Yep, that works.

 

Wonder why it doesn’t show up at all if I only type Netflix.

I tried search and got nothing.  Was looking for a thread by topic by someone whose name i remembered had replied.. nada.

 

I am so bad at using this site!  Is there some video somewhere that explains?  Or is it my lack of sharpness these days....

I think it is the way the search function works rather than anything you are doing wrong.

The BB search function is not terribly good at all.  I'll post a link to some search tips I threw together, maybe it'll help a little. 

 

So in your case, Ajusta, if you'd remembered the thread you were looking for was in "Off-Topic", you would narrow your search to that board by clicking on "Off-Topic" and searching "netflix" from there.  Try it and you should see a bunch of threads with it in the title.

 

Barbara, the little tutorial also shows how you can narrow your searches to posts by a specific member.
