Dentist...

I went to the Dentist the other morning but had to leave because I was sooo nervous. The lady was like "maybe you should take a muscle relaxer or something to calm you down when you come back so you won't be so anxious!" And I told her I'm having rebound anxiety from coming off of one! A benzo... So she said "maybe you should come back when your feeling better." And I was like "It's gunna take years until my brain heals so that's not a good idea. She agreed and told me maybe I should take my dose that morning instead of at night.

 

Anyway, so when I was a kid, I was given a shot in the roof of my mouth and it hurt sooo bad I started bawling and told myself that I would NEVER get that again! It traumatized me!

Well, when I went to the Dentist, I asked if they were gunna have to give me that same shot and he said yes so I got super nervous and rescheduled. 

Has anyone else had this awful shot in the roof of the mouth? I want to get the work done on my teeth but this shot literally traumatized me.

The reason why that shot hurt so much because there is no fatty tissue there. So it goes into the bone, which can be very painful. If the shot goes to your cheeks or so it should not be painful. Otherwise, you have to dig in your heels and take it. It should not take that long, so just count backwards and it will be over with, IMO. That's what I do.
