Page turners anyone?

Any recommendations on a page turner of a story?  I would appreciate very much.

I really like the girl with the dragon tatoo.  A mystery perhaps.

Open to other genres too.

Thank you

"The White Masai" - Corinne Hoffmann

Autobiography

Read it several years ago - couldn't put it down.  The sequel bored me though.

Saraa, page turners make this so much more tolerable. Here are some of my favs:

-The Humans by Matt Haig (scifi but beautiful and funny, really about being a human more than the alien thing)

-Innocence by Dean Koontz (not horror but speculative fiction. Also beautiful and inspirint)

-The Wonder of all Things (speculative fiction)

-the Snow Child, A novel. (also beautiful, great people stuff, speculative fiction)

-Have you checked out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? It's a blend of historical fiction, some time travel and an amazing love story/

-Carpe Demon-adventures of a demon hunting soccer mom (this is buffy the vampire slayer but imagine her as a suburban mom. Made me laugh a lot)

If you like sci-fi I have a bunch more. I almost exclusively read SF and speculative fiction because it's distracting and doesn't cause nightmares. When I have trouble sleeping (most nights) I imagine being places from my books and that helps me relax. My bestie who has wicked insomnia taught me about reading young adult fiction when your brain is in super bad shape. I'm able to read regular novels now but I forget a lot.

Enjoy!

Saraa, read the series of books related to the Dragon Tattoo, and finished the last one. "The Girl In The Spider Web", written by a different author, as

the other one passed away. I also like the true story "Wild"  Cheryl Strayed, I saw the Movie, but the book is much better, it is amazing what we can

do.

Elizabeth Strout is an awesome author! Have you read 'Olive Kitteridge'? I really liked it.

I just read 'All We Had' by Annie Weatherwax. I don't remember being so moved by a book before. I highly recommend it.

Yes I read and thoroughly enjoyed Olive Kitteridge which won the Pulitzer.  I read voraciously mostly "literary fiction" whatever that means and Olive Kitteridge falls in that category.  The main character is challenging isn't she? The above list was meant to be a bit more light and entertaining I think.  I will have to check out All We Had as I am always looking for recommendations.

It sounds like we like the same kind of books.

I'd love for you to read All We Had and tell me how you like it.

I've had a lot of numbed out emotions since coming off benzos and don't cry much. I miss my tears.

This book engaged me on an emotional level and I became very attached to a couple of the characters and shed a lot of tears over them.
