Will this work? I'm not sure, but will give it a go. We are writing a story in twenty sentences. So put your number up in brackets and remember, the person who is twentieth must end the story. Here goes.

 

(1). John walked into his house and said 'Oh my God, what the Hell's happened here?'

[[lo...]]

(2)  There was blood on the carpet and bloody footprints on the steps leading upstairs 

[[or...]]

(3) A piercing scream rang out from one of the upstairs rooms.

[[Mo...]]

(4) the scream made me stop in my tracks and I felt my heart freeze

[[Mi...]]

(5) I heard a knocking on the window, and then on the door

[[Mo...]]

(6) I wasn't sure if I should open the door and while I was trying to think, all the lights went out...

[[Fl...]]

(7) and, I yelled WTF...well that's fantastic! Do I dare go check the breaker box?

[[Mi...]]

( I tried to turn the flash light on from my cell phone, but the battery went dead

[[Mo...]]

(9) the wasa little bit of light coming in from the full moon and I made my way to the kitchen to find some matches for a candle

(10) There was a man on the floor, stuffing his mouth with chocolate.

[[Mo...]]

11) he had two bars sticking out of his mouth , his fingers covered in chocolate and as he was about to undo another bar of its wrapper, he noticed me and slowly lifted his head up to me

12) to my surprise, he asked if there was any ice cream to go with the cake?

 

 

 

[[Lo...]]

13) Luckliy, I brought his favorite pistachio ice cream and fresh strawberries.

[[Mo...]]

14) As soon as I showed him the ice cream, he got up , ripped it out of my hands, and tore off the wrapper

[[4G...]]

15) But then I thought, as I heard him chomping away, where did all the blood come from and who had let out the bloodcurdling scream???

[[4G...]]

16)Then I saw that maybe the blood was from the bottle of raspberry sauce for ice cream (which he had sticking out of his pocket) and which was dribbling all over the carpet...

17) And then came that bloodcurdling scream from upstairs again!

I ran as fast as I could. Two steps at a time.

19)Out the door, right into a crowd of people all looking up towards my second floor bedroom

Where I saw another strange man dangling from my balcony.

OK. So that's the end of that one. Imagination ten out of ten. Continuity, maybe six...

 

Hey, we can do better! It's okay to drop a (chocolate) bomb in occasionally, but we must read through the story and make sure we match up. Shall we have another go?!

 

(1) She opened the door to find a policeman standing there who said 'Mrs Ramsbottom, I presume?'

(2) 'No,' she replied. 'My name is Mrs. Sheepsbottom, officer.  Is something wrong?'

  He asked ' When will your husband Dick be home? '

(4) Dick's working the midnight to eight shift," she said evasively, "why do you need to know?"

He pulled out his gun and said "move over lady, Ive got a search warrant".
