Hello everyone,

I am shaking and veyr confused right now. I just discovered that these people on this board section are called protractors. I discovered this part of the site by accident and I was cirious to ask if any of you had heard of this. These people on this site are claiming it takes many many years to recover (5 !) and that they have studies to prove that this is indeed true. I am trembling like I just saw a ghost because of the panic reading this has caused. I am going to take many years to recover? I am so upset now. I only took this pills for two weeks and It maybe takes 5 years to reciver?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Based on the available data concerning Lunesta , It is highly unlikely that 2 weeks of Lunesta at .5 mg is causing acute withdrawal symptoms 9 months after quitting

It is highly likely that you are instead suffering from some sort of anxiety state unrelated to Lunesta  -- whether that is caused by an underlying condition (anxiety disorder) or simply current styressful circumstances of your life

IS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE OR DIAGNOSE

I would urge you to seek treatment for your distress

I have received a few PMs about this and I am not quite sure I understand. Before taking the Lunesta to help me sleep due to an accident, I was quite at peace with my life. (I cant discuss it here anymore. So I have to leave it at that). Then I quit cold turkey as per my doctors instructions. I was OK for a few days and then I got hit hard. It felt like I was dying. And my mind would just not stop spinning. After about 5 or so months it cleared up and I was perfectly normal (Aside from my vaginal infection. Still not quite what that is as I am still taking the cipro that was prescribed to me, but I am not healing from that. My doctor said if it was syphilis that would take care of it).

So fast forward to a month ago when I got slammed with severe acute-like symptoms once again. I was normal for many months. I got on with life. I did not frequent this forum any longer as I felt I did not need it. Then out of nowhere one night I was laying in bed and the same thoughts and anxiety and pain crippled me. I thought this may be a fluke wave, but the longevity and intensity of this wave is very discouraging. I had one full window day in the middle of the wave, but I consider that a flash window as the day after I had the worst day yet. I just dont know what to do anymore.

I agree wholeheartedly with destinyhunter. Its very sad that the first response to this person was an admin "correcting" her for talking about her relationship to God. This whole secular pc thing goes a little too far. And I think its hypocritical and downright insulting that threads about atheism where members put down the faithful are allowed here, yet God forbid someone talk about God and they are shunned. That is just ridiculous.

Please join the Faith Board if you'd like to engage in religious discussion.  BTW, most forums similar to this ARE completely secular and wouldn't allow any religious discussion at all. The Atheists thread is only a thread, after all, and not a board.

I am a nun. That is what my doctor and I are trying to figure out. And why I am taking the antibiotics that are supposed to help with the infection. The anxiety didnt start until 2 weeks after the cipro. But, my doctor says that Cipro is not dangerous and is a very effective antibiotic.

And to everyone else, please do not be offended. I am not offended. Please move on with this issue. The mods have been very supportive and kind to me. I do not feel like I am being discriminated against. I am sure that in a place of mass suffering the last thing a majority of the people on this forum will want to hear is that, "God loves them" and such. That can be very discouraging. I am not here to preach, I am here for support. So please just let it go. :(

Please read this article on Cipro:

A WORD OF CAUTION REGARDING FLUOROQUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS

Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) is on that list. Please talk to your doctor about using another antibiotic. Your symptoms sound like a reaction to this medication.

Lunestatic, the cipro really can cause bad anxiety. I saw it many times on this board, where they took some floroquinalones and they got hit hard with symptoms similar to benzo wd. Also, keep in mind that your cns is still fragile and any meds given to you could flare you up, i know i cant tolerate most supplement and medications due to my highly sensitized system. Cipro is known to be problematic. I bet this is why your suffering again. I hope relief finds you soon. God bless.

Oh thank you Mindseeker. I was not aware of this. I will call my doctor on Monday to discuss a change in my medication. If it even is an infection...You would  think that by taking an antibiotic for a month that you would be healed up from it.

Dear Lunestatic - I'm so sorry for your suffering. One thing I noticed is that you sometimes eat at McDonalds. I and many other people on this site have had a really bad time with any bread products, and also with processed food in general. I guess the benzos mess up our CNS, (central nervous system) and we become very sensitive to certain foods, vitamins and supplements. Many also have real trouble with alcohol - even the tiniest amounts.

Many find bread and any type of wheat gluten especially troublesome. McDonald's bread is probably some of the worst. Highly refined and highly processed. They use a substance called azodicarbonamide.

"The principal use of azodicarbonamide is in the production of foamed plastics as an additive ... Common examples of this application are window and door gaskets, padded floor mats, gym/exercise mats, shoe soles, etc."

There is much good advice here on BB regarding diet - if you need help finding it PM me and I'll search it out.

Good luck!

Yes, perhaps a second opinion is in order. But definitely find a more suitable antibiotic.

Good luck. Let us know what your doc says Monday.

If it was syphilis you would be absolutely sure that's what it was.

Syphilis is a reportable disease -- meaning they have to ( BY LAW) do a confirmatory test, and then (BY LAW ) report that you have it to the Local and State Health Departments as well as the Centers For Disease Control -- federal.

Furthermore Cipro is not even used for syphilis treatment

Pennicillinis first Line

Doxycycline or Tetracycline is second (Pennicillin Allergy)

Ceftriaxone

What antibiotic are you taking? Some, (the fluoroquinolones) are known to be VERY bad for benzo sufferers.

Should I be worried then? This must be malpractice. The doctor that we use is one provided to us by the state for the **** where I live. As nuns we do not have to get insurance to have access to healthcare. This concerns me greatly that I would have a positive diagnosis for syphilis and then be given an antibiotic that is not best one to take.

Lunestatic, I would urge you to see a Specialist....a good one.

If your convent has to pay for the consultation , then so be it.

The **** Church where I am a nun will not have to pay. The state does, which is a great benefit. Im not sure of any specialists in Milwaukee, but I will have to see when I speak to my doctor. At least then I can rule out anything else.

Another sister in my clergy says that since he is paid for by the state he is not that great. It is certainly a possibility that he is not up to par. Such a shame that healthcare, even when free, has to be of a discount variety.

Something does not smell right --

Primary vaginal syphilis ONLY happens through direct sexual contact with an infected person

Penetrative Sex with a male -- or Oral Sex with a male or female --

The protocol is followed without question -- because the positive test is recorded, the health dept and CDC contacts the doctor and LAB that performed the test -- to ensure treatment is performed

Penicillin Shots are done unless allergic.

I think there is either

Intentional Lying -- withholding of the truth

or

Trolling going on here

Well goodbye then!! I'm not hiding my faith and the ONLY thing that saved me from this mess! You guys are losing someone who was dedicated to this forum and wanted to be for life! The admins here just completely soured my taste for this. It's sickening we can't even talk about our faith anymore. MY JESUS didn't say "apologize for talking about me if it offends someone." So I'm not going to.

I am sorry but NO. I am not going to apologize for my faith anymore. I'm done being PC to make everyone happy! If you want to ban me for my comments then so be it. I will make sure our voices are heard someway or another. Good luck "admins."
